Sports and winter activities in Val di Sole
When you are in the Dolomites for skiing you can choose between some of the easier activities that will however allow you to discover many of the hidden corners that Val di Sole has to offer which will leave you with intense feelings and emotions. It is possible to try snowshoeing, nordic walking, horse-back riding, skating, bobsleighing or go on an excursion on a horse-drawn sled or a dog sled. Or you might choose to try more challenging sports such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski-mountaineering and ice climbing, which will all allow you to reach the sky.
The SKIRAMA DOLOMITI ADAMELLO-BRENTA, and its 380 km of slopes, is waiting for you! You will ski on the 150 km of slopes in Folgarida-Marilleva-Madonna di Campiglio-Pinzolo amongst the magnificent landscapes of the Dolomites of Brenta. You can also easily reach the slopes in Passo Tonale-Ponte di Legno, 100 km on the Adamello-Presanella massif, in a completely different landscape in which snow is always guaranteed thanks to the Presena glacier.
If you want to try cross-country skiing you can choose between a variety of tracks, the closest to the hotel is only 5 km away, or you can try the most famous loops at the foot of the Dolomites of Brenta or more technical tracks, that are however not well-known, at the foot of the Adamello-Presanella.
The immaculate expanses of snow are very inviting for anyone that wants to go ski-mountaineering: the famous Pisgana descent, one of the most amazing in all of Europe, is only a few kilometres away; various uniquely beautiful itineraries are also part of the local Alpine Guides’ program. There are various competitions organized in this area such as the: "Ai Piedi del Vioz", "Sci Alpinistica dell'Adamello", "Luna Rally", "Ski Alp Rabbi" and many others that show how this territory is ideal for this type of sport.
In the Dolomites skiing is not the only option: nordic walking is an activity that everyone can try. If this sport is done correctly, it can tone up your entire body, in addition to allowing you to come into complete contact with nature.
Our activity program keeps in mind everyone’s preferences: there are guided snowshoe excursions with our non-skiers club, ice-skating in the evening, shopping in Madonna di Campiglio, a tour of the Wildlife Centre in which it is possible to observe wild animals in the Stelvio National Park. A cultural outing? Take the “Dolomiti Express” train to Trento to visit the city in which the Council of Trent took place!
And after a few hours out in the open air, either skiing on the Dolomites or an outing, you will definitely appreciate the cozy atmosphere of your home away from home in the mountains.
